Andrew graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. While attending the University of Chicago, Andrew participated in the Edwin Mandel Legal Aid Clinic where he was part of a team that obtained an $11 million mediated settlement on behalf of a certified class in a racial discrimination lawsuit. Andrew also participated in the University of Chicago Corporate Lab where he led a team of fellow classmates and advised some of the world's leading technology companies on various cutting-edge corporate matters and contractual issues.

After graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, Andrew practiced at Akerman LLP in Miami, Florida. There Andrew's practice focused on commercial and real estate litigation in federal and state court. He represented clients on an array of issues, including business and administrative disputes, real estate, intellectual property, products liability, local government and municipality disputes, premises liability, 1983 claims, securities litigation, wrongful death claims,  labor and employment, and land use and zoning. Andrew also regularly advised real estate developers, sports franchises, and startup companies. Andrew then practiced at Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin, P.A., a boutique litigation firm that specializes in insurance law. There he represented clients against insurance companies in disputes involving significant dollar amounts and complicated insurance coverage issues.

Representative Experience

Representation of a landowner in one of the largest eminent domain cases in Florida regarding an airport expansion and obtained a settlement in excess of $60 million, together with additional non-monetary concessions.

Representation of a lender in a complex commercial transaction involving real estate located across multiple states and valued at approximately $20 million.

Representation of a municipality in extensive administrative trial involving various complex zoning and regulatory issues regarding the development of a nuclear power plant and related infrastructure.

Representation of an international cigar manufacturer in trademark action.

Representation of real estate developers in the development of major projects throughout South Florida.

Representation of a national manufacturer in a multi-million dollar insurance coverage dispute involving a commercial general liability policy.

Representation of a food-based startup company including day-to-day management, labor and employment issues, and corporation formation.

Representation of an individual in a warranty and product defect dispute against a billion dollar, global company.

Representation of a homeowner in insurance dispute involving a multi-million dollar fire loss.

While attending law school, Andrew worked at the University of Chicago Law School Employment Discrimination Project at the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic, where he participated in obtaining an $11 million mediated settlement on behalf of a 240-member class that was certified in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
